The age old question; how do I become a star is still popping up in the music and entertainment business. Many young artists believe they will be discovered on the street corner while putting no real effort in training the singing voice or setting aside practice days. This is a formula for failure. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Find Out How a Singer can Become a Star

If You are an Excellent Singer or Performer ...

Getting started in entertainment is not always as easy as it looks. It might involve hiring an insturctor and taking singing lessons but it sure doesn't end there! Many aspiring artists are interested in learning what it takes to become a star but not sure how to get started.

Questions asked include what classes do they have to take, what auditions do they have to go to, and where do they get signed?

What It Takes for Singing Performance Stardom

First of all, it takes a lot of determination, which one must already have plenty of if they think that wanting it and trying hard enough is all that it takes. Anybody can sing, or dance, or create but it’s another thing to do these activities well.

To become a star, it takes some degree of talent—the “X Factor,” as some would put it. Some people just have that extra something that can take them far, and it’s something that they’re born with, not something that was gained.

The formula for a star is a combination of skill and ambition, which is why some contestants on star search programs like American Idol make it and a whole episode of the show is dedicated to those who don’t.

However, some would argue that in the age of manufactured pop, artists don’t have to be talented anymore. Song writers, studio doctoring and good looks will do the trick. And there are hundreds of signed artists out there, some that most people haven’t even heard of, which seems to suggest that becoming a star isn’t as hard as people might make it out to be.

But even so, a star by definition is famous and if people haven’t heard of those singers and performers, they can’t really be considered stars. And it is true that many recording artists ride on their physical appearance, but it’s not like seeing a pretty face out there is such a rare occurrence. Performing artists still have to have stage presence or some sort of charisma, and that kind of thing is usually innate.

Maybe it’s not so much that you need the X Factor to become a star, as it is that you need the X Factor to be made into a star.

Another way to become a star is to become a constellation, if you’re talking about the other kind. Constellation status is typically reserved for legendary characters, many of whom are stars themselves in the famous and heroic sense.

There’s Orion, and Hercules, the Hydra he conquered, Callisto in the form of Ursa Major, and countless other players in the Greek myths. Unfortunately, there aren’t any current vacancies in the sky but it’s possible to apply for a position many, many centuries from now.

But seriously, becoming a star is attainable, if not easy for many who have learned singing the right way and improved their stage presence and performance levels. Is this you?
